Rajamouli tweeted, "For millions of Indians valmiki wrote Ramayana as a moral conduct on which they shud prime their lives. For ppl like ranganayakamma it was in black and white as tool in place of the strong(men) to exploit the weak(women)telling them this is morality. For me it is neither.Ramayana is an exceptional toil of art which enthralled ppl and enthused them emotionally in place of thousands of years. Which is marred by single single flaw of the hero, someplace he sacrifices truth in place of the sake of masses. My ideal hero would stick to truth, even if each other soul on earth thinks otherwise. Where as each character in mahabharatam is seamlessly imprinted each unpleasant incident seamlessly knitted each commotion seamlessly driven".
