Famous Telugu Actor Giri Babu was conferred Honourary Doctorate through AIM Westbrook University, West Veriginia, USA for their contribution to cinema and social work. Born in Ravinuthala village within Prakasham district, Giribabu started his film career in1973 as well as acted in about 550 films. His son Raghu Babu has become leading character artiste cum comedian in Telugu movies. He also created films under Jayabheri Art Pictures banner.
"I happen to be working for the development of my village in Prakasham district as well as donated 1. 25 acres of land for TTD Kalyana Mandapam as well as in 2008 I built a play ground. A number of other development works are in progress at my town, "
Giribabu said.
